Version 1.0.6 – Calendar Improvements & Forum Search Timeline (5 September 2026)
This update enhances the Event Calendar with clearer layouts and more intuitive behaviour, and delivers a complete redesign of the Forum Search experience to make results easier to browse and understand.
Event Calendar Improvements
- The calendar grid now begins on Monday, matching standard UK week layouts.
- Event tabs within the calendar now span the full width of each day, with neat text truncation for longer titles.
- The current day is now highlighted with a soft light‑blue tint and a #0185df outline, while other days retain their usual background colours.
- Save/Create buttons now use a solid blue (#0185df, darkening to #00419d on hover), and Delete uses a solid red (#b00020, darkening to #8e0016 on hover).
- The Upcoming Events list now shows a rolling 7‑day window starting from today.
- You can now left‑click events in the Upcoming Events list to open the full details modal.
- Sign Up / Cancel Sign Up actions now stay fully in sync across the modal, upcoming list, and event templates.
- Event detail modals have been refreshed with wider layouts, larger titles and icons, improved typography, cleaner spacing, and enlarged attendee badges.
Forum Search Timeline Overhaul
- Search results now use the Admin Tracker timeline layout, featuring date pills, avatars, badges, and detailed metadata for a more readable timeline view.
- Added an AJAX‑powered Load More button for smooth, uninterrupted pagination.
- Fixed a recursion crash that occurred when searching within specific forums.
- Fixed a PHP 8 null‑property error triggered by empty search submissions.
- Breadcrumbs now follow a clearer structure: Forums > Search > Search Results for ‘Query’ Parent views are clickable blue links, while current pages use dark, non‑clickable labels.
- Fixed layout issues where floating elements overlapped breadcrumb links.
- The main /forums/ index now correctly displays a single clickable Forums link.
Authentication & Routing

Version 1.0.7 – Event Calendar Category Improvements and Forum Category Controls (13 September 2026)
This update expands the Event Calendar with support for deeper category structures and clearer editing behaviour, and introduces collapsible forum category headers along with improved icon handling across the forums.
Event Calendar Enhancements
- The Event Calendar category picker now supports an optional fourth cascade level. This is used when an Event Type has child terms, such as a Raid Instance like Spirit Vale under the Raid category. The picker now requires a full selection whenever the chosen Event Type contains further levels.
- Event titles for categories that include a fourth‑level Instance now display in the format Event Type (Instance). For example, Raid (Spirit Vale) is shown instead of only the instance name.
- The Event detail modal now includes an Edit Event button for admins and editors. This opens the existing Edit Event form directly from the details view.
- The Edit Event modal now disables the Save button until a complete leaf category is selected. This matches the behaviour already used on the Add Event modal. The server also rejects incomplete category selections to ensure events are always assigned correctly.
Forum Category Improvements
- Forum categories on the main forums page now have collapsible headers with caret indicators. Your open and closed states are saved in localStorage, and a lightweight head script ensures the correct layout appears instantly without any flicker during page load.
- New upload fields are available in wp‑admin for custom Read and Unread Forum Icons. These appear under the Forum Category metabox and remain hidden until you tick the Set Category Icons checkbox, keeping the editor tidy unless you need them.
- All forum categories now use Attitude Gaming’s default icons for read and unread states. The grey logo is used for read, and the colour logo is used for unread. Any custom icons uploaded in wp‑admin override these defaults for individual forums or categories.
- Side artwork has been updated across forum templates and global body pseudo‑elements. The left side now uses ag-gw-sideart-left.webp and the right side uses ag-warcraft-sideart-right.webp.
- Custom uploaded icons now calculate their width and padding automatically based on the image’s dimensions and aspect ratio. This allows wide banner logos, such as Guild Wars 1 at 145px, and square icons to display at their natural proportions without appearing squashed or too small.
- Forum category title buttons now keep a transparent background when hovered, instead of switching to the default brown hover style.
- Moving a topic to a different forum now updates all related metadata correctly. The _bbp_forum_id value is updated on the topic and its replies, topic and reply counts are recalculated for both forums, freshness timestamps are refreshed, and the forum query cache is cleared to prevent outdated information from appearing.
Future patch notes will be added below this entry.

Version 1.0.8 – Metadata Clarity & Forum Layout Refinements (16 September 2026)
This update enhances how edited posts are displayed, refines breadcrumb behaviour for forum categories, and resolves layout issues affecting long child‑category lists on the forum index.
Edited Post Metadata Improvements
- Edited topics and replies now display a clear “Edited by … on …” line, styled with a subtle separator that keeps the information readable without disrupting the surrounding layout.
- The edited‑metadata line remains properly right‑aligned and vertically centered between its divider lines, ensuring consistent presentation across all posts.
- Unedited topics and replies no longer show the custom edited‑metadata line when WordPress revision data exists without a true bbPress edit marker.
Breadcrumb Behaviour Adjustments
- Parent breadcrumb items for forum categories now appear as plain text rather than clickable links, correctly reflecting the intended hierarchy and preventing navigation to non‑interactive parent levels.
- Bottom breadcrumbs on topic pages now match the primary breadcrumb treatment, keeping top‑level forum parents as plain text for consistency.
Forum Index Layout Fixes
- Long child‑category lists on the forum index now wrap cleanly between category names.
- Text no longer clips, breaks mid‑word, or overlaps topic‑count or activity details, resulting in a more stable and readable layout.
Topic Count Synchronisation & Recount Logic Improvements
- Forum topic counts were repaired and kept in sync, ensuring category and index displays remain accurate.
- Recount logic was narrowed to the actual forum‑move path, avoiding unnecessary recount operations and reducing performance overhead on the forum index.
Future patch notes will be added below this entry.
