Version 1.0.14 – Polls, GIPHY, and Authentication Enhancements (29 September 2026)
A feature update expanding poll functionality, adding GIPHY support, and improving multi‑factor authentication flows.
Added
- Topic and reply editors now include a GIPHY picker with live search as you type, trending results, and pagination. Configure a Web API key under Settings → GIPHY to enable search.
- The header notification bell shows a badge for unread replies to the signed‑in member’s topics and opens a fixed‑height, scrollable dropdown with recent replies linked directly to each post. Reading a topic clears its replies from the count, and the badge is hidden when the count is zero.
- Topic Poll tabs now support optional single‑choice polls with 2–10 answers, member voting, results, and closing/reopening voting. Questions and answers lock after the first vote to preserve results.
- Profile edit Security settings now show Email 2FA and Google/Microsoft Authenticator status panels.
- Members can enroll an authenticator app by scanning a locally generated QR code and confirming its six‑digit code; enrolled apps can be disabled from the same panel.
- Authenticator enrollment now generates ten single‑use backup codes, shown briefly after setup for secure storage and accepted during sign‑in.
- Authenticator sign‑in challenges now include an explicit Send an Email Code Instead fallback.
Changed
- GIPHY API key settings now use an explicit text input with a descriptive placeholder.
- GIPHY images in forum topics and replies now display up to 360px wide on desktop and scale down to fit smaller screens; existing GIPHY‑linked images are included.
- Topic content is optional when submitting a valid poll; the editor label updates as poll fields are filled in.
- Published polls now use application‑style bordered answer rows, red selection accents, and a centered Vote button, with matching results styling.
- Poll composer fields, spacing, voting toggle, and centered red Submit button now match the Content tab.
- Email 2FA is now enabled by default for every account and sign‑in method; an enrolled authenticator app takes precedence.
- Custom sign‑in challenges use consistent title‑case labels and clearer authenticator and email‑code actions.
Fixed
- Poll‑only topics no longer show an empty opening post; replies remain visible. Poll panels do not show a standalone Edit topic link.
- Topic submission errors are now visible above the composer instead of being hidden by the forum notice styles; missing titles return poll authors to the Content tab before submission.
- Fixed a PHP fatal error in poll form rendering that interrupted new‑topic/edit pages and applied WordPress error‑page styling to the layout.
- Authenticator enrollment no longer reloads the profile editor or closes its Security section while generating a QR code.
- Shared emails now use the opaque‑colour PNG logo, preventing Gmail from rendering the transparent white logo on a black background.
Known Issues
