As you may know, we are strong advocates for online privacy. Our aim is to collect only the information needed to operate the website, maintain account security and support our community. We want you to understand what happens to your information when you register, participate in the forums, apply to join the guild or use any of our website features.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please contact us using the details above.
2. Cookies and Browser Storage
Our website uses cookies and browser storage to support account sign-in, authentication, security and saved preferences. Some cookies are used only when you access a particular feature, so not every cookie listed below will necessarily be set during every visit.
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Local storage is a separate browser technology used to remember information on your device.

The default lifetime is approximately 347 days. These cookies apply only if anonymous posting is enabled and the relevant functionality is used. Their use depends on the live forum configuration.

Google reCAPTCHA helps distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic and reduce spam and abuse on supported forms.
The integration may use the _GRECAPTCHA cookie and potentially other Google cookies or technologies. It may be loaded during sign-in, registration and password-reset processes.
Google may process technical information, including your IP address and browser-related details, to assess whether an interaction is genuine. Google’s own privacy terms apply to information processed through its service.
2.6 Third-Party Cookies
Some website features rely on external services, including Twitch, Steam and Battle.net.
These services may use their own cookies or other browser technologies when you access their content or authentication flows. Cookie names, lifetimes and behaviour are controlled by the relevant providers and may vary.
2.7 Local Storage
Our website uses browser local storage to remember certain forum display preferences.
Storage key Purpose attitudegaming_collapsed_forums Remembers which forum sections you have collapsed. Local storage is separate from cookies. Our code review did not identify other theme-specific local or session storage keys.
2.8 Analytics
We use AWStats on our web server to generate statistics from server access logs. These reports help us understand general website usage, such as visitor numbers, requested pages, traffic sources, and browser information.
AWStats processes server log data, which may include IP addresses, request timestamps, requested URLs, referrer information, and browser or operating system details. The precise information available depends on the server logs.
We do not use Google Analytics or a similar client-side website analytics service. AWStats reporting is based on server logs rather than tracking visitors through an analytics script installed on the website.
Server log data is retained according to our hosting and server log rotation settings. We do not currently specify a separate retention period for AWStats data.
2.9 Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may prevent sign-in, two-factor authentication or other website features from working correctly.
Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, those technologies should be activated only in accordance with the relevant consent requirements.

3.13 TeamSpeak Status
Our website retrieves online nicknames and channel information from the guild’s TeamSpeak server to display current voice-server activity.
These status requests are made by the website server rather than directly by your browser.

Their cookies, retention practices and technical processing may change independently of Attitude Gaming.
4.3 TeamSpeak Requests
TeamSpeak status information is retrieved by the website server rather than directly by your browser. The website uses the returned online nickname and channel information to display current voice-server activity.
This differs from embedded content and external images, which may cause your browser to contact the relevant provider directly.
4.4 Email Delivery
Our email-delivery service handles the information required to send account-related messages, such as email verification, password recovery and other account-related notifications.
This may include your email address and the information needed to deliver the relevant message.

We aim to use personal information only for appropriate purposes connected with operating and protecting the website and providing the features you choose to use.
If we intend to use personal information for a new purpose, we will review the applicable requirements and update this policy where necessary.
6. Our Lawful Bases for Processing
Where UK data protection law applies, we must have an appropriate lawful basis for processing personal information.
Depending on the activity, the relevant lawful basis may include:
- Contract: Where processing is necessary to provide an account or service you have requested.
- Legitimate interests: Where processing is necessary for purposes such as protecting the website, preventing abuse or administering the community, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Consent: Where processing relies on your permission, including certain non-essential cookies or optional integrations where consent is required.
- Legal obligation: Where processing is necessary to comply with an applicable legal requirement.
These are possible lawful bases and must be confirmed against the website’s actual processing activities. Not every basis applies to every activity.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we should be able to explain those interests and why the processing is necessary.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
Measures may include:
- Cryptographic password hashing.
- Session controls and authentication checks.
- Access restrictions.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

Retention periods may vary by information type:
- Account information: While your account remains active and for an appropriate period afterwards where necessary.
- Forum posts and contributions: While needed to maintain community discussions and forum history, subject to applicable deletion requests and moderation requirements.
- Guild applications: For the period needed to assess applications and maintain appropriate recruitment records.

- Two-factor authentication cookies: Approximately ten minutes, according to their intended expiry.
- Backups: According to the hosting and backup retention schedule.
- Cookies and local storage: For the lifetime of the relevant cookie or browser-storage entry.
These are categories and general criteria, not a statement of verified retention periods for every system.
The actual retention periods should be documented for the website’s accounts, applications, logs, backups and other relevant records. When information is no longer required, it should be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, subject to applicable obligations and legitimate needs.

- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

- Complain: Raise a concern with the relevant supervisory authority if you believe your information has been handled unlawfully.
These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. For example, deleting an account does not necessarily mean every forum contribution or record must be erased in every circumstance.
To make a privacy request, contact the website administrator using the contact details in Section 1. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. International Data Transfers
Some external providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take the steps required by applicable data protection law. Depending on the circumstances, this may involve an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards.
The actual providers, countries involved and safeguards should be confirmed against the website’s hosting, email and integration arrangements. Please contact us if you require further information about a relevant transfer.
11. Children’s Privacy
Attitude Gaming aims to maintain a family-friendly community. However, a family-friendly environment does not automatically mean that every website feature is suitable for every age group.
Users should not submit personal information about children unless they are authorised to do so and there is an appropriate reason. Parents and guardians should help younger users understand what information they share online.
If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact the website administrator so the matter can be reviewed.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the website changes, new features or integrations are introduced, or our data-handling practices change.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Where a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional information or notice where required.
We encourage members to review this page periodically.
